Raphael had a Renal ultrasound today. A renal ultrasound is effectively an ultrasound of the kidneys and bladder.CHARGE babies can have severe deformities of the kidneys but fortunately this does not appear to be the case in Raphael. They can also suffer from vesicoureterial reflux, where urine can reflux from the bladder back into the kidneys but there is no sign of damage or swelling that this kind of reflux can cause. In addition he has had no unexplained fevers (infections) that could have been the result of vesicoureterial reflux.
This is good news! This is in fact the first test that Raphael has had where the news is that there are no abnormalities/problems.
